Violence against the elderly is increasingly present in society and can be seen as a public health problem, requiring knowledge of the present scenario to better conceive public policies and interventions. The objective of the present study is to analyze the epidemiological and medical-legal data of victims of violence aged 60-years and older attended at the Medical-Legal Institute of Cuiabá in 2015. According to the data collected, the mean age of victims is 67.92 years, with the male gender being the most prevalent and the mean time between the aggression and the IML care varied from 0 to 6 hours. The majority of the victims were brown and most aggressions were inflicted by someone who lives in the same domestic environment. The body segment most affected were the upper limbs, by forceful instrument.
