This study complies information from injury reports of children and adolescents attended at the Medical Legal Institute of Cuiabá and its region between January and December 2015. Despite all the increasingly restrictive and forceful measures to combat violence against children and adolescents, there is an increasing number of cases of aggression towards these physically and psychologically fragile victims, some of them leaving lasting sequelae. The Legal Medical Institute provides assistance to victims with the purpose of describing these remnants of violence in detail in compliance with criminal law (Code of Criminal Procedure (CPP) – article 158) for the production of the bodily injury report, a valuable and indispensable document for the police investigation. Thus, knowing the epidemiological data of these victims of violence attended at the Institute is essential to establish security measures and create new programs to combat this crime and repress agressors.
