PORTRAIT OF VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS ATTENDED IN THE MLI OF CUIABÁ AND REGION
The Legal Medical Institute provides assistance to victims with the purpose of describing these remnants of violence in detail in compliance with criminal law (Code of Criminal Procedure (CPP) – article 158) for the production of the bodily injury report, a valuable and indispensable document for the police investigation.
APPLICATION OF POST MORTEM HUMAN IDENTIFICATION METHODS, IN THE LMI ESTÁCIO DE LIMA, IN THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 2011 TO DECEMBER 2015
This article aims to quantify and compare the main methods of post mortem identification according to epidemiological and structural variables, identifying techniques, costs and difficulties. This is a cross-sectional observational study, carried out at the IML Estácio de Lima – Maceió / AL, over a period of five years.
ASPHYXIA BY NECK CONSTRICTION: REVISED MECHANISMS
In view of the controversies about the temporality of the mechanisms of death in cases of cervical constriction – hanging, strangulation and garroting – research is needed in order to reach a better understanding of the nature of the trauma(s) involved. The general objective of this article is to demonstrate the real mechanism of death by cervical constriction. Secondly, as specific objectives, the understanding about the legal importance of the time spent in these events would be reached, and it would allow to better quantify the suffering of such victims.
BRIEF CONSIDERATIONS ON PSYCHOSOCIAL ASPECTS OF SUICIDE
The author makes brief psychosocial considerations about suicide by drawing attention primarily to its frighteningly increasing numbers and by referencing to various theories that explain the suicidal act, its causes and consequences.
