FORENSIS-MEDICAL ASPECTS OF DEATHS BY SUICIDE IN THE NORTH REGION OF BRAZIL BETWEEN 2011-2022.

Abstract
INTRODUCTION: Death from self-harm is a diverse phenomenon, permeated by multifactorial motivations, which encompass the complexity of the individual's social and psychological nature. In this sense, it is essential to analyze the context and variables that motivate human beings to carry out such self-destructive behavior in the northern region of Brazil, a place historically marked by the neglect of public health policies. MATERIAL AND METHOD: This analysis was based on data collected from the DATASUS platform. Comparisons were then made between the epidemiological profile collected and the typical characteristics of the northern region of Brazil, such as social and economic aspects. RESULTS: Over the period studied, the northern region of Brazil had 11,145 suicide cases. In addition, the distribution of cases of death from self-harm was uneven between men and women, with significant figures for males. With regard to the age group of the victims, it can be seen that the 20-29 year olds were the most affected during the period analyzed, accounting for 29.72% of the total recorded. CONCLUSION: With this study, it was possible to understand the causes related to the phenomenon of suicide, in order to develop health strategies and increase the number of state humanitarian support policies in the northern region of Brazil.
