Total hip arthroplasty has a high rate of improvement in pain, function and quality of life in individuals undergoing this procedure. However, the hip prosthesis has a period of duration, or “useful life”, which is influenced by the activities carried out by the wearer, who will have permanent limitations.
Work incapacity must be assessed individually by a qualified physician, taking into account the particularities of the person and the work performed, however, we suggest considering total and permanent work incapacity for patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty in professions that require high demand and generate risks of aggravation to human health.
