Livor mortis is perhaps the less explored cadaverous phenomenon in Legal Medicine. When properly explored, lividity can bring important contributions concerning the reality of death, the diagnosis of the cause of death, the chronothanatognosis and other aspects related to the expertise of death. The livores of hypostasis require better study.
