Mental and behavioral disorders are the third leading cause of sickness disability benefits by the Brazilian National Social Security Institute (Instituto Nacional do Seguro Social – INSS). In this paper we present the frequency of social security benefits granted due to depression in Brazil between 2008 and 2019.
